Kathmandu, December 28
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has consulted CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal about the National Assembly ordinance, which the government has forwarded to her for enactment, on Thursday.
The meeting follows accusations of outgoing Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Nepali Congress that President Bhandari is breaching the constitution and prolonging the stalemate by putting the ordinance on hold.
Of late, the President is consulting leaders of various political parties over the ordinance as the left alliance consisting of CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre has objected to the provision of single transferable bill proposed in the ordinance. In this context, Dahal had gone to the Sheetal Niwas for the discussion this morning.
