PR vote count: Nepali Congress follows UML in preliminary update

Kathmandu, December 10

The first update on results of proportional representation elections for House of Representatives and provincial assemblies has been out, in which the CPN-UML is in the lead followed by the Nepali Congress.

The CPN-Maoist Centre, which has been the second force in the first-past-the-post results announced so far, is in the third position.

Currently, PR votes in some of the districts which held the polls in the first phase on November 26, according to the Election Commission.

Madhesh-centric Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal have not received much votes so far as ballot boxes from the Tarai are yet to be opened. The RJPN, however, is faring better than the Forum-Nepal.

The Naya Shakti Party is ahead of Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Democratic as well as Bibeksheel Sajha Party.
