Kathmandu, May 5
A ward chairperson candidate in Nagarjun Municipality of Kathmandu, who was said to have been abducted, has been found in Godavari of Lalitpur.
After preliminary investigations, police suspected that Madan Giri orchestrated the drama of his kidnapping just to attract public attention ahead of elections scheduled for May 14.
The Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party Nepal has fielded Giri as its candidate for the chairperson of Ward Number 7 of Nagarjun Municipality.
He had circulated text messages from his mobile phone on Wednesday that he was abducted. But, police had found him safe and sound this morning.
“We have been studying various aspects of his life,” a police official investigating the case informs, “It seems it is just a drama.”
