PM Oli warns Netra Bikram Chand group not to continue on its course

Kathmandu, March 8

Prime Minister and NCP Chairman KP Sharma Oli has warned leaders of a Maoist splinter group that has been involved in violence around the country to not continue on its current course.

Oli, who was addressing a programme organised to mark the end of secessionist leader CK Raut’s campaign for Free Madhesh, said that the Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led group did not deserve to be called ‘Nepal Communist Party’.

The Chand group has already owned up to a bomb explosion outside the office of Ncell in Lalitpur few weeks ago.

“I have also read the Biplav group’s pamphlets. They are extorting people, killing people and planting bombs. How can they call themselves ‘Communist Party’ if they resort to such activities, Oli said.
Oli said that the government would be forced to take action against the group if it continues on its current course. “It is the duty of the government to maintain peace and security, and the government will do its job,” he added.
