Kathmandu, April 2
The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee on Tuesday called members of the public to file complaints against Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya who has been recently nominated for the vacant position of Chief Election Commissioner.
Despite a protest of the Nepali Congress lawmakers, the Committee initiated the hearing process, by calling for complaints. The complainants can approach the committee with the complaints within next 10 days.
Whereas the opposition lawmakers forced the Committee to postpone the meeting on Sunday claiming their party president was absent at the Constitutional Council meeting that made the nomination, they protested the decision today saying Thapaliya was an incumbent government secretary.
The Council had nominated Thapaliya for the position last week.
Meanwhile, the Committee also called for complainants against Bishnu Maya Ojha, nominated for the membershio of National Inclusive Commission.
