Kathmandu, August 19
Education and Health Committee in the House of Representatives has decided to consult medical education reform activist Dr Govinda KC among others as it is discussing the Medical Education Bill.
Dr KC had staged a fast-unto-death demanding various amendments to the bill last month. He had broken the fast on the 27th day after the government agreed to file amendments accordingly.
A meeting of the Committee held today has summoned Dr KC to the next meeting.
Likewise, members of the Kedar Bhakta Mathema-led commission formed to suggest reforms in the sector and representatives of Nepal Medical Council have also been invited.
Meanwhile, the Committee held a meeting with lawmakers Binda Pandey. Som Prasad Pandey, Rajendra Kumar KC and Khaga Raj Adhikari among others today. They have filed amendment proposals on the bill.
