PAN mandatory for share transaction from next fiscal year

The Securities Board of Nepal says all people and organisations involved in transaction of shares are required to acquire permanent account number (PAN) from next fiscal year 2018/19 that begins in mid-July 2018.

The regulatory body of Nepali share market made the announcement on Thursday as it made public its annual policies and programmes.

Meanwhile, the Board also decided to establish provincial offices in line with the new federal structure of the country. It has also planned to carry out a study to begin the issuance of municipal bonds from municipalities of the nation.

The Board has also planned to establish a securities market training institution with a paid-up capital of Rs 100 million, in which the Board has 51 per cent shares.
