Oli suspects plots underway to split NCP

KP Sharma Oli addresses a function in Kathmandu, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

Kathmandu, February 13

Prime Minister and Nepal Communist Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli says there are efforts underway to split the newly unified party.

Oli, however, maintains that he and his party will not let them get success.

Launching the government’s ambitious employment programme in Kathmandu on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said those willing to split the party were trying to divide the leadership over different issues.

Oli’s statement follows media reports that the differences between him and another chairman of the party, KP Sharma Oli, are widening.

Recently, Oli had publicly commented that Dahal committed a mistake in blaming the United States for the Venezuela political crisis in haste. Few days after that, Dahal had warned that a new Maoist party would be born.
