Oli not happy with NCP merger pace

KP Sharma Oli

Kathmandu, March 28

Prime Minister and ruling Nepal Communist Party chairman KP Sharma Oli on Thursday expressed his dissatisfaction with the party over the delayed unification of lower level committees of then CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre.

It has been nearly one year since the two parties announced their merger into the NCP, their local committees and sister organisations are yet to merge.

Oli, who had stated few days ago that the process would conclude unexpectedly soon, conceded today that the process was marred by unnecessary dillydallying.

“Total 10 months have passed. We should not have spent so long time,” he said, “This is unnatural.”

He, however, maintained that the process would end soon.

Addressing his party cadres at a function in Kathmandu today, Oli urged them to solve their grievances about the unity process within the party.
