Kathmandu, July 22

Leaders of the Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre, which have tabled a no-confidence motion against the KP Oli government, said the meeting of the Parliament should convene on Friday. They reiterated their demand for discussions on the motion in the House.

On Thursday, with parties busy in discussions in a bid to arrive at an understanding, the Parliament meeting scheduled for the day could not take place. Another House meeting is scheduled for 2 pm on Friday. Two hours before the meeting, the House will convene an important political meeting in a bid to bring parties to an agreement.

The Congress and the Maoist party said the House meeting should resume even if parties fail to arrive at an understanding at the meeting.

Congress leader Bal Krishna Khand told Onlinekhabar: We are of the view that the House’s meeting scheduled for the day should take place today and it should discuss the no-trust motion.

Even Speaker has said she will try to make parties reach an understanding and will convene the House’s meeting if her attempt fails, Congress whip Ishwori Neupane said, adding that the meeting should take place.
