Kathmandu, July 18

The Election Commission has decided to let new voters get registered in the voters’ list from their own local units. It also extended the deadline for registration till August 16.

Earlier, the Commission had said they should go to the district headquarters and allowed the time till July 30.

But, considering suggestions from various political parties and stakeholders, the Commission revised its decision today.

Further, residents of the district headquarters can register their names till announcement of next elections.

The registration of new voters for upcoming provincial and federal elections had opened last Sunday.
