Kathmandu, May 10
Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada says the government’s budget plan for the next fiscal year 2019/20 will prioritise completion of incomplete projects.
The Minister says connectivity infrastructures including railway, waterway and roads will also be another priority of the budget.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, Khatiwada said the budget plan would target achieving the status of a middle income country by 2030.
“We have created a foundation for the prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali. We will allocate budget to make the next year a year of development with social justice,” he said.
In another context, the Minister said the country’s import was increasing as infrastructure development projects took momentum, highlighting the export amount was also gradually increasing.
As per the constitution, the Finance Minister will announce the budget on May 29.
