Nepal’s Supreme Court has ordered the government to make arrangements to allow Nepali migrant workers living aboard to caste their ballots during elections in the country.

In an order to the government, justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Purushottam Bhandari said that the government needs to make arrangements for migrant workers to vote without having to leave the country where they are based in, informed Advocate Anurag Devkota.

However, the full text of the verdict has not been made available yet.

According to Devkota, the court was responding to a writ petition filed by Law and Policy Forum for Social Justice in April last year.
