Nepal’s football governing body embraces federal structure

Kathmandu, August 15

Nepal’s domestic football governing body, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), has decided to transform its organisational structure in line with the country’s new political structure.

A special general meeting of ANFA currently underway in Sauraha of Jhapa district made the decision.

ANFA President Karma Chhiring Sherpa says the decision was made as all government structures have been changed into the new federal model with the completion of local, provincial and federal elections last year.

Meanwhile, the meeting is preparing to endorse the organisations regulations and bylaws about financial transactions, operations, human resource management and player management. ANFA did not have such documents till date.

Sherpa says the meeting was organised to establish legal grounds to run various activities of ANFA as it did not have sufficient laws earlier.

Around 300 delegates including representatives of district football associations, A division clubs, other football associations are participating in the meeting.
