The Nepali Congress has decided to elect its parliamentary party leader on Monday next week, March 5.

A meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee on Sunday fixed the date after endorsing the amended statute of the parliamentary party.

Meanwhile, the meeting also formed a three-member committee including Chin Kaji Shrestha, Nabindra Raj Joshi and Bhishma Raj Angdembe to move forward the election process.

It has been learned that party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and former General Secretary Prakash Man Singh want to contest the election whereas General Secretary Shashanka Koirala is interested in the position if elected unopposed.
