Kathmandu, October 15
The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has postponed the tea party that it has been organising every year on the day of the Kojagrat Purnima on the occasion of various festivals such as Bada Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Samvat New Year and Chhath.
The NC stated that it will organise the tea party on November 2, Friday. The event was earlier scheduled for Kojagrat Purnima, October 24.
Party’s Central Working Committee member Dila Sangarula said the decision to defer the tea party was made owing to to the death of party leader Chakra Prasad Banstola.
Another leader Pradip Poudel said the party decided to postpone all the programmes of the party except the condolence programme as the party was mourning over the demise of Banstola.
Banstola had passed away on Saturday.
