Kathmandu, December 9
Leaders of the main opposition Nepali Congress, who are close to senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, held a meeting at the resident of leader Prakash Man Singh, on Sunday afternoon.
The faction has expedited its preparations for the party’s mahasamiti meeting scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from this Friday.
The mahasamiti will amend the party statute. Therefore, the factions led by party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Paudel are preparing strategies to turn the meeting on their side.
Besides Paudel and Singh, present in the meeting were General Secretary Shashanka Koirala, Treasurer Sita Devi Yadav, Shekhar Koirala, Arjun Narsingha KC, Minendra Rijal, Gagan Thapa, Chandra Bhandari, Nabindra Raj Joshi and Kamala Panta among others.
It has been learned that the leaders discussed forging a consensus about their view on the statute amendment proposal.
