Dhangadhi, April 14
Nepali Congress president and opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba says that the government has failed to deliver on every front.
Deuba, who was speaking at a programme in Dhangadhi, accused the government of failing to maintain law and order in the country. “Cases of murder, violence and rape have shot up. The government has even shielded those involved in the rape and murder of Nirmala Pant,” the former Prime Minister said.
He added that the government has also failed to control inflation and it was levying more taxes on the people. “There are people who cannot earn their living easily. They are having a tough time paying all the taxes,” he said. Asked why the opposition has not been able to play an effective role in Parliament, Deuba claimed that his party was playing an effective role in Parliament.
