Kathmandu, May 24

The government of Nepal says it will announce results of the measurement of the height of Mount Everest within next six months.

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal made the announcement one day after the government team sent to measure the height returned to Kathmandu.

Addressing a press meet at her ministry this morning, Aryal said the team would give ‘actual’ information about the height of the highest peak of the world.

During the press conference, the team members informed that they spent one hour and 16 minutes at the top of the world earlier this week.

Khimlal Gautam, an official at the Department of Survey, informed that measuring the height was a tough job though he had climbed the peak in the past also.
