Nepal Police launches new plan to equip all stations with vehicles

Kathmandu, April 23

Nepal Police has launched a new campaign to equip all police stations across the country with vehicles.

The national police organisation wants each of its stations to have at least one vehicle, either four wheeler or two wheeler.

Launching the drive, Nepal Police recently distributed 500 motorbikes among its stations.

SSP Uttam Raj Subedi, spokesperson at Nepal Police Headquarters, informs that the vehicles will enable police personnel to reach crime and accident scenes immediately after the incidents.

He adds that the Headquarters has already purchased 340 additional motorbikes.

“We have purchased 18 other kinds of vehicles. The procurement process is underway for 43 others.”

In another context, Subedi says the Headquarters also started a process to purchase equipment for newly established cyber and human trafficking bureaus.
