Nepal Police says it has established two new telephone lines to inform members of the public about obstructions along long road routes.

People can call on 01-4412603 and 01-4412780 if they need any information about status of any road or highway in the country, says the national police organisation.

It says the service aims at helping people who are confused about whether to begin any journey or take which route, especially during monsoon.

Many roads of Nepal get frequently obstructed due to landslides in the season.

Meanwhile, Nepal Police is also informing public regularly about road obstructions on its Twitter account.
