Kathmandu, April 15
In its bid to let foreign employment returnees get better job opportunities in the country and abroad, the government of Nepal is beginning a new programme to test skills of the migrant workers once they return home.
Following the test, the government will provide them with certificates for their skills.
The Foreign Employment Board informs that those who have submitted applications for the test earlier can take the examination free of cost.
When the government called the workers to apply for the free test in December last year, around 500 people submitted the application.
The Board has finalised a list of 20 professions for the test including scaffolder, building assistant, waiter, electrician, building painter, housekeeping cleaner, refrigerator and air condition mechanic, aluminium fabricator, shuttering carpenter, tailor, furniture maker, beautician, structural fabricator, security guard, industrial electrician, caregiver, arc welder, excavator operator, plumber, and stone layer mason.
