Kathmandu, April 22
The ruling Nepal Communist Party has said it has concluded the merger between the district level bodies of the erstwhile UML and Maoist parties.
The announcement comes almost a year after the two parties announced a merger. A meeting of the party secretariat at the Prime Minister’s residence at Baluwatar on Monday concluded the process by selecting chairpersons and secretaries of the district-level units of the party.
According to sources present at the meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalnath Khanal, Bamdev Gautam, Ishwor Pokhrel Ram Bahadur Thapa, and Bishnu Paudel were also present at the meeting.
