Nepal, Canada to establish bilateral consultation mechanism

New York, September 25

Nepal and Canada have agreed to establish a bilateral consultation mechanism to hold talks on various facets of relations.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau signed an agreement to this effect after a meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

PM Oli expressed happiness over the formation of the mechanism years after diplomatic relations between the two countries was established in 1965. He thanked the government and the people of Canada for the assistance provided so far to Nepal.

The Canadian Prime Minister hoped that the meeting will deepen ties between the two countries.
