Nepal Army personnel defuse IED planted on Damak Mayor’s vehicle

A Nepal Army bomb disposal squad has defused an improvised explosive devise installed on the vehicle of Damak Municipality Chief, Romnath Oli, in Damak of Jhapa on Thursday morning.

The Mayor has been staying at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Damak.

According to the Mayor, the suspicious object kept inside a carton box was found on the roof of Scorpio jeep belonging to the Municipality office.

He had informed police after seeing the object.

The security personnel inside the residence had taken the box safely at 8:00 pm last night and disposed it this morning, informed the Area Police Office in Damak.

Police are searching for the attackers.
