NCP Secretariat likely to discuss leaders’ call for Central Committee meeting

Kathmandu, November 22

Ruling Nepal Communist Party has called a meeting of its Secretariat to discuss contemporary political issues and stalled meetings of its party committees.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, also the Chairman of the party, has called the meeting of the party’s ‘high command’ for 4 pm at his government residence in Baluwatar today.

The meeting is taking place one day after 21 Central Committee members, considered close to senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, submitted a memorandum demanding the early meeting of Central Committee.

Leaders say the meeting is most likely to discuss concerns raised by the 21 members.

Likewise, it will also discuss resuming the stalled unification process of lower committees and giving a momentum to the party organisation that has not been much active since the merger of then CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre some months ago.

Meanwhile, the performance of incumbent government will also be another highlight of the discussion as Prime Minister Oli himself has expressed his dissatisfaction over the ministers, according to the leaders.
