NCP planning to impeach CIAA commissioner Pathak if he won’t resign

Kathmandu, February 14

The ruling Nepal Communist Party has sent a warning to Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority member, Raj Narayan Pathak, calling him to resign from his post.

If Pathak, who has been alleged of bribery, doesn’t resign, NCP leaders say they will file an impeachment motion against him, which will result in his automatic suspension.

NCP leaders have asked for his resignation after videos of the anti-corruption body’s official taking a bribe while being were published on social media.

Sources close to the NCP tell Onlinekhabar that impeachment motion will be filed in Parliament on Friday.

Yogesh Bhattarai, an NCP lawmaker says, “If he doesn’t resign, he will surely be impeached.”
