Naya Shakti expels two central leaders preparing to join CPN-Maoist Centre

L-R: Ram Chandra Jha and Ram Kumar Sharma

Kathmandu, August 16

Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party Nepal has expelled two central leaders of the party who are apparently preparing to defect to the CPN-Maoist Centre.

Joint Coordinator Ram Chandra Jha and leader Ram Kumar Sharma have been removed from all party responsibilities, the party informed today.

Just few days ago, the duo had met Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and informed that they would join the Maoist party soon. The two were leaders of the then UCPN-Maoist before joining Naya Shakti.

Jha, a former CPN-UML leader, had also approached the UML to join, but again turned to the Maoists after the UML did not offer him a green signal.
