Chitwan, March 23
A driver has died after a boulder fell off of cliff and hit his ‘micro’ bus near Ichhakamana-5 along the under-construction Muglin-Narayangadh highway, officials said.
According to police, passengers on board the bus (Ba 2 Kha 5449) are safe. The identity of the deceased has not been established. Officials said that the boulder fell on the bus from as it passed a cliff, where construction work is going on.
The highway was obstructed for a few hours after the incident. It has now been cleared.
The incident comes a day after the Department of Roads gave contractors 70 days to finish the road expansion project.
