Medical Education Bill: Three parties make no headway

A meeting of top leaders of major political parties held in Kathmandu, on Friday, October 13, 2017.

Kathmandu, October 13

A meeting of three major political parties held to find ways about breaking the deadlock regarding passage of Medical Education Bill has ended inconclusively as the parties were adamant on their stances.

Likewise, the parties could not forge any consensus on provisions of the proposal bill on elections of National Assembly.

The Parliament Secretariat is preparing to end regular business sessions today itself as the legislative body will dissolve tomorrow, it has become certain that the two bills will not get endorsed.

It means the President will have to issue an ordinance to conduct elections of the National Assembly.

Earlier, Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar had called top leaders of major parties for a discussion on contentious issues.
