Mechi-Mahakali Campaign: Inaruwa feels the heat amid UML-UDMF face-off

Inaruwa, March 6

The CPN-UML’s Mechi-Mahakali Campaign has reached Jhumka of Sunsari district through Jhapa and Morang districts. At Sunsari headquarters Inaruwa, UML and UDMF cadres are almost facing each other — they are demonstrating at a distance of 50 metres from each other.

Wielding black flags, UDMF cadres shouted slogans against UML Chair KP Sharma Oli. UML cadres are busy building a podium for today’s programme.

Interestingly, the UML election symbol — the Sun — and the black flags are fluttering side by side.

UDMF cadres are protesting against the UML, pointing at burning of their podium in Itahari last year. Police are stopping UDMF cadres from the UML’s programme venue. The main opposition plans to organise its mass gathering amid UDMF protests. The UML has informed that the campaign rally will reach Inaruwa after wrapping up the programme in Jhumka.
