Like it or not, Nepal needs Nepali Congress: Deuba

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba speaks as the party launches its election manifesto, on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

Kathmandu, October 31

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba says Nepal needs his party notwithstanding whether people like it.

Unveiling the party’s manifesto for upcoming provincial and federal parliamentary elections in Kathmandu today, the Prime Minister said only his party could lead the country towards economic prosperity and protect national unity and independence.

Meanwhile, Deuba commented that anti-democratic forces were unified now to bring in communist totalitarianism, adding there would not be any space to complain of injustice in a communist rule.

He also said the CPN-UML was trying to instigate divisions between Madheshis and Pahadis and different communities, adding the Congress could unify them together.

Party’s senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel and General Secretary Shashanka Koirala had also criticised communist parties for their unity bid while addressing the function.
