Surkhet, July 27

The provincial government of Karnali has requested the federal government to introduce a special provision that people and firms investing in the development of province need not pay any tax or revenue to the government for next 10 years.

The provincial government has argued that such an excuse is necessary for an speedy development of the apparently least developed province of the country.

The government’s spokesperson and Minister Bimala KC says the Ministry of Finance of the federal government has been requested to make a decision as the provincial government is not authorised to do so.

Meanwhile, the province has also requested the federal government to authorise itself for negotiations to attract international investments including loans and grants to the province, according to KC.

Meanwhile, a recent meeting of the Council of Ministers assigned the Office of the Chief Minister to prepare a draft for the Provincial Public Service Commission.
