Kami Rita Sherpa breaks his own record, summits Everest for the 23rd time

Kami Rita Sherpa, on Wednesday, reached the top of Mount Everest summiting it for the record 23rd time.

According to Mingma Sherpa of Seven Summit Treks, 49-year-old Kami Rita successfully climbed Mount Everest at around 7:50 am. In doing so, he broke his own record for most summits on the roof of the world. Last year, he climbed Everest for the 22nd time.

Kami Rita, who works as the Senior Climber Guide at Seven Summit Treks, scaled the Mount Everest for the first time on May 13, 1994.

Between 1994 to 2019, he summited Everest 23 times; K2, Lhotse and Manaslu 1 time each; and Cho Oyu 8 times.

With this, he has climbed eight thousanders for total 34 times.
