ICC U19 World Cup Qualifier Asia: Nepal beat Oman by 150 runs

Kathmandu, April 16

Nepal beat Oman by 150 runs in their fourth match of the ongoing ICC U19 World Cup Asia Qualifier in Kula Lumpur on Tuesday.

Oman, winning the toss on a seaming pitch, put Nepal to bat. That decision proved good fruitful for Oman as they reduced Nepal to 81-5 in 20 overs. However, a 91 run partnership between captain Rohit Kumar Paudel and Bhim Sarki took Nepal to a score of 230.

Oman never looked in control in the run chase losing wickets at regular intervals. Nepali bowlers did not let the Omani batsmen settle and reduced them to a modest total of 79 runs in 44 overs, winning the game by 150 runs.

With this win, Nepal garner six points from their four games and are still second in the group behind the UAE who have won all their matches in the tournament including the one against Nepal. Nepal play Kuwait in their last game on Thursday and can only qualify if the UAE lose to Oman on the same day.
