How dare you deceive UML, Oli asks Dahal

Kathmandu, April 26

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Wednesday claimed that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal tried to deceive the main opposition party over the contents of constitution amendment bill recently tabled in Parliament.

Speaking at a function organised in Kathmandu today, Oli said PM Dahal had earlier assured him not to change the number of local levels before the elections, but later directed Local Development Officers to recommend new local structure in 11 districts of Terai.

“How dare you?” Oli said, stressing his party would not be easily deceived by the wordplay of Dahal.

“Efforts are being made to split the nation and making Hindi the national language by preaching we need elections anyhow now,” the former Prime Minister added the government was planning to create divisions between hills and plains.

Just this afternoon, Oli had engaged in a verbal spat with Dahal over the same issue, during which Dahal had reportedly claimed he would garner the two-thirds majority in House without UML to pass the constitution amendment bill.
