Hetauda, March 21
CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal says there are no plans to shift the capital of Province 3, and Hetauda shall remain the province’s centre.
Speaking at a press conference organised by Press Centre Makawanpur, he said that of the 13 districts in Province 3, Makwanpur was the most appropriate for the establishment of the provincial capital. “That the provincial capital is being shifted is only a rumour,” he added. The former Prime Minister said people should not go after such rumours as all administrative work meant to be carried out from the provincial capital has already been started in Hetauda.
Regarding the name of the province, he said it is the prerogative of the Province Assembly.
“This year has been the ‘election year’ and now is the time to work for the economic prosperity of the country. And this requires national consensus,” he said. Dahal said the government’s main task at hand was to maintain good governance and stability and to give impetus to development.”
