Health bill tabled in Parliament

The public health bill 2075 BS has been tabled in the meeting of the House of Representatives. The bill was tabled by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav.
Participating in the deliberations on the bill today, former Health Minister Khagraj Adhikari, opined that the VIPs should themselves bear the cost of their treatment abroad.
Lawmaker Krishna Bhakta Pokharel said that the health insurance and emergency health fund were made effective in the bill to make efficient public health policy.
Former Law Minister Sher Bahadur Tamang said that the bill had paved the way forward for reaching the specialist doctors in remote areas hospital.
Similarly, former Health Minister Gagan Thapa stated that the bill should ensure quality heath service.
Lawmaker Prem Suwal asked the government that why the VIP ward was established in Bir Hospital if most of the VIPs go abroad for treatment.
Responding to the queries of the lawmakers, DPM Yadav said that the bill was tabled to assure quality health service to the people.

The next meeting of the HoR will take place at 11:00 am on August 23.
