Kathmandu, January 23
Police say they have arrested one more person in connection with the 2017 October murder of construction entrepreneur Sharad Kumar Gauchan. The arrestee is the ‘chief shooter’ of the gang, according to police.
Shyam Gombe was arrested on Tuesday morning, informs the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police.
Another suspected shooter, identified as Amar Bahadur Rana, is on the run till today. It has been learned that both Gombe and Rana are runaway army personnel.
So far, police have arrested 11 persons including the suspected mastermind Samir Man Singh Basnyat in connection with the case.
Gauchan was murdered in Naya Baneshwor of Kathmandu on October 9.
Responding to demands of the family and construction fraternity, the government has already decided to declare him a martyr.
