Gandaki: NCP directs local leaders to keep next poll in mind

The provincial committee of ruling Nepal Communist Party has directed chiefs and deputy chiefs of local governments elected from the party in Gandaki Province to expedite development activities keeping in mind the local level elections to be held after around four years.

Organising a meeting of the leaders in Pokhara on Monday, the party directed them to formulate plans of action and implement them effectively in coordination with the party so that the party could retain its strength in the next polls as well.

The province’s Chief Minister, also the NCP provincial incharge, Prithvi Subba Gurung, during the meeting said the local government should promote pro-people initiatives by abstaining themselves from corruption.

He urged them not to give any space to the opposition for criticism.

The provincial committee chairperson Hit Raj Pandey said elected representatives at the local level had an opportunity to enhance their performance with the unification of two parties into the NCP.
