From the Kathmandu Press: Thursday, July 26, 2018

All major Nepali and English broadsheet dailies published from Kathmandu Valley on Thursday have given the top priority to the failure of two teams representing the government and fasting medical education reform activist Dr Govinda KC to conclude the talks between them and end the current stalemate seen in the adoption of new medical education law. On the other hand, Dr KC’s health has turned more critical as his hunger strike completed 26 days yesterday.

Few other political issues including the Prime Minister’s preparations to split a ministry so as to satisfy expectations of his Cabinet colleagues and the Nepali Congress’ preparation to make its protest programmes more effective has also been featured on the front pages of major newspapers today. Likewise, there are some stories from sociocultural and financial issues including the rescue of 16 Nepali women from the traffickers’ clutches in New Delhi of India on Tuesday, on the broadsheet front pages today.

Likewise, the government is now trying to show Dr KC and his talk team ‘political’ so that it would free itself from addressing the responsibilities, according to the report.

Meanwhile, doctors attending to him have warned that he might lose the consciousness anytime, according to The Kathmandu Post.
