Forum-Nepal to join Oli Cabinet as left leaders assure constitution amendment

Kathmandu, February 26

The Upendra Yadav-led Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal has finally agreed to join the new government under CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s leadership.

The left alliance leaders including Oli and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal have assured that they will take initiatives for a constitution amendment to address demands of the Madhesh-centric party. Other details of the deal between two sides have not been known yet.

Another source says no written agreement has been made, but it will be signed later.

It has been learned that Yadav himself will represent the party in the Cabinet as the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The three top leaders had held a meeting at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar today in a bid to forge understanding.

The Cabinet expansion is expected this afternoon. Some leaders of the UML and the Maoist Centre will join the government along with Yadav.
