Former Nepal King Shah admitted to hospital

Kathmandu, July 19

Former King Gyanendra Shah has been admitted to a hospital in Kathmandu after a routine check showed signs of some clog in the former monarch’s arteries.

According to a family source, Shah was at the Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu on Wednesday morning. According to the source, doctors are preparing to conduct an angiography test on Shah to decide whether an angioplasty (a minimally invasive, endovascular procedure to widen narrowed or obstructed arteries or veins) is required or not.

“There’s nothing serious. We’re doing it just as a precaution,” a family source quoted doctors as saying.
