Former ministers tell Nepal govt to speak on India-Pakistan fight

L-R: Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, Ramesh Nath Pandey, Prakash Chandra Lohani and Prakash Sharan Mahat

Kathmandu, February 27

Four former foreign affairs ministers of Nepal have suggested that the government express its opinion about the ongoing tussle between India and Pakistan.

They have said that Nepal should not keep mum over the issue not only because Nepal is the current chair of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), of which both India and Pakistan are members, but also they are close neighbours of the country.

Mahendra Bahadur Pandey says Nepal should keep itself in contact with both the countries peacefully, wishing that the issue would be resolved through talks.

Ramesh Nath Pandey is of the view that Nepal should give an emotional leadership to the issue as Nepal is the oldest country of South Asia and Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal.

Prakash Chandra Lohani says Nepal should suggest the two neighbours to seek solutions through talks.

Likewise, Nepal should make its stand against terrorism clear in this situation, according to Prakash Sharan Mahat.
