Five photos to re-live maestro Narayan Gopal’s life and times

Nepali music enthusiasts are celebrating the 27th death anniversary of Narayan Gopal, who is also popularly called Swar Samrat (The King of Vocals). Narayan Gopal had died at the age of 51 on December 5, 1990.

Here we have five pictures depicting the legend’s life and times. The pictures are from an exhibition of photographs of the maestro, held at the Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal in February 2016.

Narayan Gopal not only sang duets with Nepali artists, but also with international ones. If you’ve heard of Mohani lagla hai… that’s one of the songs Narayan Gopal and Asha Bhosle sang.
