Eighth National Games: 5,211 athletes competing for 1,307 medals

Kathmandu, March 31

Total 5,211 athletes will be competing for 1,307 medals in the eighth National Games taking place in and around Nepalgunj from April 18.

The National Sports Council (NSC) informs that 2,825 are men and 2,386 women will be taking part in 35 different sporting events. They will be competing for 327 gold, 372 silver and 563 bronze medals.

Similarly, Rs 25,000 will be awarded to those who break a national record during the National Games.

Thirty-five games including football, athletics, boxing, weight lifting, table tennis, cricket, swimming, shooting, volleyball, taekwondo, basketball, paragliding, golf, chess and bodybuilding have been included in this year’s National Games.
