Kathmandu, January 31

The Kathmandu District Administration Office and the Metropolitan Police Range say they have launched a probe into reports that Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli threatened a lawyer to kill him.

After senior advocate Surendra Bhandari filed an application at the District Administration Office that Chief Justice Parajuli made phone calls to issue threats against him and sent some people to his law firm with the warning, Chief District Officer Kedar Nath Sharma says he has ordered police to look into the matter.

SP Rabindra Dhanuk at the Metropolitan Police Range says they have asked for call details to check if Bhandari’s claims are right.

Likewise, the Metropolitan Police Circle in Naya Baneshwor has been asked to investigate further, according to him.
