Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation steps up fundraising drive for new stadium

Kathmandu, February 13

The Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation has intensified its fund-raising campaign days after it decided to build an international cricket stadium in Chitwan.

According to the foundation, it organised three events ’ in Malaysia and collected Rs 3.5 million for the Lord Namobudhha International Cricket Stadium at Rampur of Bharatpur-16.

The foundation, named after two noted actors Sitaram Kattel (Dhurmus) and Kunjana Ghimire( Suntali) is now performing shows in Nepal and outside of it to raise funds for the stadium.

The couple said that they were much inspired to see interest and excitement among the Nepali community in Malaysia towards the campaign. The events were supported by the City Express.

The new stadium is expected to carry a price tag of Rs two billion. According to the foundation, a detailed project report ( DPR) of the proposed structure and works are being prepared and the document shall be ready within the next six months.

The stadium shall take at least two years to build.
