Damak, April 22

Nepali Congress President and former prime minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, has claimed that his party never has its weak role as the main opposition in Parliament.

Talking to mediapersons today at Chandragadhi Airport in Jhapa, he claimed that the party had never been in the weak position as the opposition.

“The party is being accused of failing to prove its effective presence as the main opposition just for causing a disgrace to the party.”

He refuted the reports that factionalism plagued the party, claiming that such reports were false and intended at defaming the party.

“Differing views and opinions are always welcomed in democracy and the NC, as a democratic party, entertains such views within the party and this culture is misinterpreted as the practice of groupism, which is totally untrue.”

He took time to accuse the KP Sharma Oli-led government of pitching totalitarianism.

Leader Deuba including other senior leaders were here to attend an inaugural ceremony of a new building of NC regional Committee and felicitations programme here today.
