In a day or two, government will request Election Commission to start poll preparations: Minister

Kathmandu, February 1

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak said on Wednesday the government will write to the Election Commission in a day or two to start preparations for elections.

Lekhak said this at a face-to-face that Reporters’ Club Nepal had organised.

He said: The government is working seriously to create a conducive environment for elections. The Parliament has passed some of the Bills, while some others are awaiting passage.

He said the government is holding consultations with political parties for creation of an enabling environment for elections.

Even for implementation of the Constitution, the government has to create three-tier elections within the deadline, he noted.
